The image struck me, pleasantly, while I was sifting through the endless crap of the internet: Viola, La Traviata 1987, an opera of four acts by the Guiseppe Verdi. It's sadly forgotten and rarely accredited, but modern films like Moulin Rogue and dare I say Pretty Woman were based upon its main plot. La Traviata, meaning literally "a straying woman" or "a woman who strayed", can also be interpreted as "The Lost One". The play was rendered after La dame aux Camelias by Alexander Dumas, published in 1848, and the first performance only 5 years later.
The story takes place in 1700s Paris, though most mewer versions of it can be set in the 1800s.
